Who we are

This app is the members' directory of the Akhil Bhartiya Agrawal Sammelan (established 1975). The Sammelan is responsible for the member details kept in the app, and the Sammelan office answers any question about them.

What we keep

Your membership record from the Sammelan's rolls, together with what you add yourself: your name, gender, gotra, date of birth, photo, mobile number, email, address, city and PIN code, and your business or profession details. If your spouse is also a member, we keep the family link between the two records. For certain membership categories the office also records your PAN.

When you sign in, we also keep basic service records — the codes sent to your mobile number, your sign-in sessions, and a log of important actions on your account.

How your details are used

To run the member directory, confirm your identity with a one-time code, process membership payments, send you membership updates on WhatsApp or SMS, answer your help requests, and keep the records accurate and safe. Your details are used for the work of the Sammelan only.

What other members see

Members can see your name, city, gotra, and profession. Your phone, email, address, and date of birth stay hidden until you choose to reveal them. Your PAN is never shown to members. You can also hide your photo whenever you wish.

Who we share them with

Only with the trusted services that run the app, and only as far as needed: member details and photos are stored securely on servers in India; one-time codes and updates are delivered through a messaging service; membership payments happen on the payment partner's own secure page, so your card and bank details never reach the app; and an error-monitoring service helps us fix technical problems, with personal details removed before reports leave the app. We never sell your details, and we never share them for advertising.

Cookies

The app sets two cookies on your device: one keeps you signed in for about 60 days, and one remembers your language choice. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

How your details are protected

Everything between the app and your device travels over a secure, encrypted connection. Your PAN is stored in encrypted form and is never shown in the app. Photos live in private storage and are shown only to signed-in members who are allowed to see them. Every office action on a member record is written to a permanent log that cannot be quietly altered.

How long we keep them

Your membership record stays for as long as the Sammelan's rolls carry it. Service records are short-lived: logs of sent codes and messages are removed after about 90 days, sign-in sessions soon after they end, and help requests after one year.

Your choices and rights

You can see your own record in the app, correct most details yourself, and choose at any time what other members see — reveal or hide your contact details and photo. Anything you cannot change yourself, the office will correct for you.

You can also ask the office what details we hold about you, ask for your record to be corrected or removed when you leave the Sammelan, and raise any concern about how your details are handled. These rights follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Write or call the office using the details below, and we will respond.

Changes to this notice

When this notice changes, the new version appears on this page with a fresh date at the top. If a change is important, we will let members know.
